Hoover makes new Friends

My Friends: I have LOTS of friends here and they are all very good to me. Kelly is one of the angels who helped get me here. She also gave me my first bath, I have since forgiven her for the bath. Chris is the receptionist who feeds me lunch and calls me her little man. I get to spend alot of time at the front desk, which is good beacause the man in the brown suit has been bringing me lots of stuff. He makes me put my paw on this little machine before he gives me my package... kind of weird but they all think it's adorable and it usually yields me extra treats. Dana and Lori take me on walks and Dana spends alot of time lecturing me about leash manners and begging. Dr. Reppart and Amanda spend most of their time poking and prodding me, and they argue about appropriate treatment protocol? LouAnn works somewhere else but she stops to see me every day. She comes in the middle of the night when everyone else is gone. She sits in my kennel and gives me snacks. She is my favorite person to drool on. I worry about her, she says that her dry cleaning bills are killing her. If I ever see them I will chase them away.

Hello,
Is Hoover up for adoption? If so my husband and I would love to offer him a forever home. He reminds of our bullmastiff Harley who died 4 years ago. Please email us at aandpscott@Hotmail.com. Thanks so much!

PS. We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland but are willing to travel. We found this link via bullmastiff rescue which we help with.

I just got around to visiting this website. I'm the person who received the email and pic of him from my old friends at the county shelter. I volunteer with a rescue group in Cincinnati and do the intake. Although I've taken in a lot of dogs in bad shape over the years, Hoover was definitely up there in the top 10 worst I've seen and I knew I had to get him. I told them I'd be down to pick him up and emailed Hoover's pic to Wanda G. who volunteers with your rescue. I only emailed to get her opinion of what breed of mastiff she thought he was. I was shocked to get an email back saying she'd take him into your organization. What a relief since I was already way over the max number of dogs I was suppose to have in our rescue group! Hoover is the product of what can happen when shelters and different rescues all work together. Thank you Wanda and your organization for reaching out to Hoover. Thank you Hoover for bringing Wanda and I together to finally get to meet face to face!!! Not only did you get rescued, but I've got a new friendship I hope will last a long time! Candy, with HART

We just adopted another rescued bullmastiff (Harrison) from this wonderful group of people. Hoover is a lucky guy to have such kind and devoted people with him. We thank God everyday for them and for their hard work and love. Harrison has been such an amazing addition to our family, as I am sure Hoover (or any of the dogs) would be to yours. You are ALL amazing in Mt. Vernon! Keep up the great work. Way to go Hoover!
